Embark on a Journey to Success with SAP S/4HANA
Enhance efficiency and take full control of your core processes.
BAM Infra Netherlands standardizes and harmonizes its financial processes with SAP S/4HANA. SAP's business suite replaces the current ERP systems and forms the basis for the Financial Shared Service Center of the infrastructure branch of Royal BAM Group, which was established in 2015.
BAM Infra Netherlands is an extensive organization with four business units: BAM Infra Multidisciplinary Contracts, BAM Infra Regional, BAM Infra Connect and BAM Infraconsult.
The construction company uses S/4HANA for all finance-related processes, from incoming invoices to project administration. BAM Infra is thus implementing an efficiency improvement, which means, for example, that invoices are processed faster. There is also direct insight into the work carried out within a project that has not yet been invoiced. A customer also gets a better impression of the progress of a project.
To prepare the organization for the future, the need has arisen for one Financial Shared Service Center for finance that is supported by one integrated system. BAM Infra Nederland opted for SAP S/4HANA, the in-memory ERP suite that connects processes and data, as the 'digital core' of the organization. This also lays the foundation for the further digitalization of BAM Infra and the development in the areas of BIM, Analytics and joint article/standards management.
“With S/4HANA we fully harmonize our processes in the financial field, which immediately delivers efficiency benefits,” says the financial director of BAM Infra Netherlands. “Information is collected in a clear manner and comes together in a central location. This makes it easier to perform analyzes and generate reports. At the touch of a button, we can immediately see how we are doing and make adjustments where necessary. With S/4HANA we have real-time insight and can continuously optimize our services to both internal and external customers.”
“BAM Infra Nederland is taking major steps in the field of innovation,” says Jan-Theodoor Wiltschek, Innovations Manager at SAP. “They prove this not only with the implementation of SAP S/4HANA but also with recent work in SAP's Run Live Truck. Within a few days, several young professionals from BAM developed an application to use machine learning to match a new tender to tenders from the past. Insight into what was and was not successful in the past increases the chance of winning a new tender.”

The choice of state-of-the-art technology from SAP, based on one digital core, allows BAM to harmonize its specific applications in a controlled manner, allowing users to have their own user experience and still share information unambiguously.

BAM Infra Equipment, part of the internationally operating Royal BAM Group, has revolutionised their internal rental process for construction supplies. Previously, they relied on a time-consuming and error-prone analogue system.
Jan Snel Group and Emixa replaced an outdated ERP system with Prefab SAP S/4HANA in 5 months, laying the foundation for future growth.
Recently, Jan Snel subsidiary Medexs made a successful switch to S/4HANA in just three months with the help of Emixa.
