ONVZ, the Premier Health Insurer, relies on robust software to manage all insurance processes efficiently. They aimed to rapidly build necessary portals and enhance user-friendliness in existing environments, particularly crucial during the year-end peak when people renew or acquire health insurance. Collaborating with Emixa, utilizing Mendix technology, ONVZ improved the Business-to-Business portal for collectives and intermediaries, enabling employers and insurance advisors greater autonomy.
Challenges: More Speed and Less Dependency
During the peak period at the end of the year, when many seek new health insurance, ONVZ sought to accelerate the development of necessary systems and portals while significantly reducing dependence on third parties. Additionally, they aimed to make portals more user-friendly, empowering ONVZ to develop software faster, enabling collectives and insurance advisors to independently manage more digital aspects in ONVZ's portals.
Realization
Addressing these challenges with low-code led ONVZ to Mendix expert Emixa. The initial joint step involved enhancing the B2B portal for collectives and insurance advisors in the insurance process.
Rebuilding the portal with Mendix and introducing an integration layer between Mendix and the back office enabled collectives and ONVZ's insurance advisors to perform more tasks independently. This includes critical functions such as applying for new policies, entering contacts, and modifying company details. The B2B portal is the first of several portals and applications to be optimized. Emixa and ONVZ are also set to develop mobile-native applications in the future.
Significant improvements were achieved in the development process, with the automated rollout and release of new features. This efficient process speeds up tasks like creating backups, testing, and deploying features.

Results
Post-implementation, insurance advisors and collectives can independently manage more tasks, saving time on inquiries. ONVZ employees have more time for personalized service, making a difference in handling more complex health queries. Emixa involved ONVZ's developers in the building process and provided internal training, enabling ONVZ to independently build and manage all necessary applications and portals.
