Last night (Thursday, 27th November), Emixa proudly attended the 2024 Computable Awards, held at the iconic De Polar at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. With this year’s theme, “Faster, Higher, Stronger” — inspired by this year’s Olympic Games in Paris — the event celebrated the top performers in the Dutch ICT market.

Emixa’s nominations marked a significant milestone for our company, making our debut in this prestigious competition following our January 2024 rebranding — a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Nominations in Two Competitive Categories

Emixa was nominated in two highly competitive categories:

About the Projects

Meijer Potato – Crossing Potatoes:
This project, a collaboration between Emixa, Meijer Potato, Mendix, Boomi, Solace, and Databricks, aims to simplify and optimize the development of new potato varieties. By automating the selection of optimal “source potatoes” using an advanced data model, the process has become more efficient and scalable.

The solution integrates an app, powered by Boomi iPaaS and Solace, which communicates with a robust data platform to calculate the "perfect cross" for new varieties. Using Boomi Master Data Hub as the central data repository ensures all data is accurate and consistent across all processes. This innovation streamlines the complex process of developing new potato varieties for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

InMotion – Charging Ahead Towards Le Mans e-Racing:
InMotion is an inspiring educational project led by a student team at Eindhoven University of Technology, in collaboration with Emixa and Siemens, to revolutionize charging technology in the automotive industry. The team’s pioneering work is paving the way for electric refueling to be as fast as conventional refueling.

This cutting-edge innovation will be showcased during the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race, where the team will compete with a fully electric car. Now in its eleventh season, the project demonstrates the potential of Siemens software—supported by Emixa—to drive the energy transition in the automotive industry.

Emixa Shines with Strong Public Backing

Although Emixa did not take home an award, the results showcased the strength of our projects and the incredible support from the public:

  • For Charging Ahead Towards Le Mans e-Racing, Emixa achieved 3rd place overall, securing the highest public vote score in the category.
  • For Meijer Potato – Cross Potatoes, Emixa earned 4th place overall, with the second-highest public vote score in the category.

These outcomes reflect the public's recognition of Emixa's innovative capabilities and the dedication of our talented team.

A Night to Remember

With 41 entries in the Digital Innovation category and 27 entries in the Education Project category, the competition was fierce. Nominees were evaluated based on criteria such as complexity, risks, added value, originality, and the role of the supplier. Winners were determined through a combination of 50% public votes and 50% jury evaluations.

Emixa’s strong performance in these categories—favored by overwhelming public support—highlights our growing presence and influence in the Dutch ICT landscape.

"To be recognized in such a competitive field and to receive the public’s overwhelming support is a testament to our team’s expertise and the visionary clients we collaborate with," said [Erik Burghoorn, CCO at Emixa]. "We are honored to have had the opportunity to showcase these groundbreaking projects and will continue to drive innovation across all areas of digital transformation."

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and nominees of the 2024 Computable Awards. Being part of such a highly regarded event has been an inspiring experience, motivating us to push the boundaries of innovation, education, and excellence across the ICT landscape.

Stay tuned as Emixa continues to create, innovate, and make a lasting impact!
